Have you booked me for an event, and you’re here looking for my bio? Scroll down for options!
Hello! My name is Adara, I’m a chronic microphone-holder, living on Dharawal Land (Wollongong, NSW) and hopping onto stages wherever I can along the eastern coast of NSW.
I’m a spoken word poet, MC, arts administrator, proofreader, and soon-to-be celebrant. I’ve worked in the literary arts my entire adult life, and it is my absolute pleasure to organise, host and perform at events centred around creativity and vulnerability.
My favourite thing from any side of a microphone is to be a part of the conversation between audience and performers, feeling the crackle of energy and the kiss of intimacy between people providing a peek into their souls, and folks creating a warm and understanding space in which to share that glimpse.
Whether hosting, performing, or organising from behind the scenes, I treasure the active creation of creative community.
